[Meeting Aunty]

The voices were, at times, felt a bit forced in terms of delivery. There were moments where I couldn't quite believe the characters and almost felt like caricatures. None of them really seemed memorable and sound just like any other adult trying to do a old man, flamboyant boy, etc. However, they were decent for what they were and they did make your range more differentiated. A fair warning though. Having a vast vocal range does not necessarily mean success. Remember to keep in mind the voices that you can do with believability and skill are always your friends. Acting is the most crucial part of voice acting. It also is helpful to know what sort of character type your best voices in (cocky teen, mysterious stranger, villain, etc.) and learn to often stick with that typecasting in order to nail it. One might think that this may limit them artistically, but it does make wonders when you're good at one or a few particular types, especially when it comes to auditions. Just keep at it, believe in yourself, practice, and audition if you feel that you want to do this for more than just a mere hobby.

Now, the writing is a bit awkward. The gross-out scenes seem to be trying too hard to really hit one in the funny bone in its delivery, and the overall focus of the story,in my opinion, it doesn't seem to exemplify the theme entirely well. The main character may seem to be meeting his aunt and family for the first time, but to have it revealed that he was at the neighbor's house the whole time sorta kills it. If this was going for the theme, "Simple misunderstanding/mistake" or "In the life of another family", this entry might have done it justice. Though this is just my opinion on the matter.

Lastly, the sound effects did have a dull quality to them. Nothing really stood out, and often times there could have been a better example to fully exhibit its purpose. If you ever want to look for other sound effects, check out these websites: www.freesound.org, www.soundbible.com, and www.freesfx.co.uk are some examples that I use for sound effects.

Overall, this was definitely not a bad effort. There is some potential in this, and if you really like doing this, don't give up on it.

Thanks looking into getting some better equiptment so the sound quality is much better, also it was kind of a rushed job. I knew I had so much time to put into it, but was kinda busy so an entry was better than no entry I figured. lol Anyways thanks for the review!

[First Time Rule Breaker]

Seriously though, I'm glad that you were able to get this done before the contest was over. Overall, you definitely portrayed each of the characters in a way that makes them memorable. They don't sound flat, monotone, or inappropriate for the occasion. In fact, the range is well-displayed as well and none of the characters sound the same in terms of mannerisms or voice.

Which leads me to the writing. The writing is exceptionally written and doesn't go overboard with the situation. It's simple, sticks to the theme of the contest with ease, and it exhibits each character with memorable personalities.

Lastly, the mixing feels very authentic, which can be due to some of the sound effects being your own. They're applied thoroughly and don't overpower the voices. I could detect hardly any static in your recordings, so that's a big plus. Also, I'm kinda glad that you didn't put any music into this. It could have offset the ambiance and atmosphere of the school setting.

Overall, I think you really have a good chance of being a top contender for this contest. I wish you the best of luck while I go cry in the corner eating my organic graham crackers and butter.

As for you thinking I may have a chance at being a contender that's a mighty cool thing of you to say. I know this is going to sound totally inauthentic but I really don't mind where I get placed, if at all. I'm just really excited to be a part of something and getting to interact with other voice actors. I know people say this sometimes without meaning it, heck even I've said it without meaning it, but I genuinely feel so happy to be a part of this contest and don't care if I win anything. It's exciting. Bah, I'm rambling.

I haven't checked out your entry yet, but I'd love to take a listen. Thanks again for such a lovely and detailed review I hope I can repay you.

[My First Time Out Drinking]

A good variety of voices that are very diverse from each other and well-acted. Nice use of sound effects as well. The crowd in the bar really creates a good ambiance, and it's impressive that you did your own sound effects for the majority of them. The writing has a nice touch to it, especially in terms of how each character interacts with each other.

It's a pity that this goes way past the maximum amount of 6 minutes for the contest. If you can eliminate some of the dialogue, you might be able to squeeze it to six minutes or less. Wouldn't want you to lose points for the length of this entry. Thankfully, you can edit anything to your heart's content until this Friday. I wish you luck in that.

Overall, this is definitely not bad. Good chemistry and decent laughs made possible by a well-written script. Once you're able to snip a good chunk of seconds, I would say that you would make a big contender.

[Lilin's First Blood]

Damn, Heidi. I would say that at this point, you're a sure contender for winning. If you don't even get 4th place, I would cry out shenanigans. The acting is definitely the highlight of this entry, with each voice being diverse and memorable. You already heard my say on the story. Overall, good get those voice actors, especially me 0_______0, a run for their money.

[Sorrowful 60's episode 2]

The editing was good, though wasn't the scene where I was going elsewhere and talking to myself more in a bathroom? I can't remember. If it was, then the way this was mixed almost just seemed like I walked off to the side and just talked to myself. The actress who plays Rebecca isn't bad either. I'm actually looking forward to seeing how she tackles the more serious themes. As for if our lines sparked any good chemistry, I'm not entirely sure. I thought there were some moments where we both kinda sound flat and one-dimensional. Then again, that could just be me. Overall, a good second part to the podcast.

[Sorrowful 60's episode 1]

The editing is most impressive, and the audio mixing is good. You can definitely hear my voice through all the music and background noise, and that's not an easy feat. Nicely done. I won't rate my voice since I usually drag myself down, but everything else was quite well done.
